Phil Pearson
I am afraid this post is a very sad one. As some of you may already know from reading my earlier posts, Phil Pearson crashed badly after hitting a pothole in Knockholt village near Bromley whilst out cycling on Saturday 28th May with his club the Old Portlians CC. Phil was taken to King's College hospital in London by air ambulance but sadly died on Wednesday 6th June without regaining consciousness. The Pedal for Parkinson's team send their heartfelt condolences to Phil's family and wish them to know that our thoughts are with them.

From Land's End to John O'Groats
In 2008 I rode my bike from Land's End to John O'Groats raising money for the Cure Parkinson's Trust, which, true to the name of its subsidiary company Movers & Shakers, has persuaded the Parkinson's community to focus on the need for clearly defined goals that reflect patients' desires and expectations. At the top of this Wish list – A CURE! ___________________________ "From Wits' End to John O'Groats" is the story of that 2008 ride and what led up to it. I am told it is a good read – informative, inspirational and funny and who am I to argue?

Right to Left: Les Roberts, Nigel Macvean, Mark Vallance, David Greaves, Ian Watkinson, Chris Bennett and Chris Brown. Chris Brown and Ian are members of a second team that are riding the Lands End to John O'Groats End-to-End route, starting a couple of days before the rest of us.
